A leading critical access illness recovery hospital, dedicated to delivering exceptional inpatient post-ICU care for chronic, critically ill patients, is seeking a Director of Pharmacy (DOP) to provide strategic leadership to its pharmacy department. Responsibilities:
- Lead the clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management of the hospital pharmacy.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and multidisciplinary clinical teams to align pharmacy services with organizational goals.
- Ensure accurate preparation of all medications and chemicals.
- Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage and oversee the Adverse Drug Reaction Program.
- Develop and implement training and education programs for pharmacy staff and new employees.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives related to drug utilization and effectiveness.
- Monitor patient drug therapy and engage in patient counseling and education.
- Develop at least one clinically oriented pharmacy program annually, such as Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service, Pain Management Services, or Nutritional Support Service.
- Promote continuous quality improvement and a patient-centered care environment.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of all educational requirements necessary for state licensure.
- Minimum of 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience within the last 5 years.
- Current state pharmacy license and BLS certification if required.
- Preferred: PharmD or BS Pharmacy plus an advanced degree or completion of a hospital pharmacy residency.
- At least 1 year of managerial experience preferred.
- Board Certification and/or Residency is advantageous.
