Director of Pharmacy in Lynchburg, VA

An immediate opening is available for a Pharmacist serving as the working Pharmacy-in-Charge (PIC) at a newly established behavioral hospital. This facility operates as a joint venture between major health systems, offering a unique opportunity for professional involvement from the ground up.

Location:

• Lynchburg, VA

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, daytime shifts only

Contract Details:

• 13-week assignment with potential for temp-to-hire
• ASAP start date

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in a clinical behavioral health setting
• Serve as the working Pharmacy-in-Charge, overseeing daily pharmacy operations
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff to ensure optimal medication management and patient care
• Manage pharmacy technicians, including supervision and workflow coordination
• Oversee restocking and inventory management of Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards within the pharmacy department

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Active Virginia pharmacist license is mandatory
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy-in-Charge or supervisory role preferred
• Background working in a hospital or behavioral health pharmacy setting highly desirable
• Strong communication and leadership skills to collaborate with clinical teams effectively
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment
