Director of Pharmacy | Lynchburg, Virginia

A newly established behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA, seeks an experienced pharmacist to serve as the working Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC). This opportunity offers a hands-on leadership role where clinical expertise and operational oversight are equally valued. Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate proactively with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient care.
• Oversee daily pharmacy operations including pharmacy technician supervision.
• Manage and restock Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) ensuring seamless supply.
• Ensure adherence to pharmacy policies, safety standards, and quality control procedures.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist eligible to practice in Virginia.
• Prior experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge, ideally within a behavioral health or hospital setting.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Detail-oriented approach with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Knowledge of inventory management and pharmacy technology systems.

Location: Lynchburg, VA

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Day shifts
