This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Pharmacy Director of Pharmacy (DOP) seeking a dynamic role within a newly established behavioral hospital. Located in Lynchburg, VA, this 13-week contract position offers the chance to lead pharmacy operations while maintaining hands-on responsibilities as the working Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC). The hospital is a joint venture between two reputable healthcare organizations, emphasizing a collaborative and innovative environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Acting as the working PIC, managing daily dispensing activities
• Consulting directly with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient care
• Overseeing pharmacy technicians and ensuring workflow efficiency
• Managing restocking of Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) and inventory control
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Director or working PIC, preferably in behavioral health or hospital settings
• Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Expertise in medication dispensing, inventory management, and pharmacy operations
• Ability to maintain high-quality service while managing multiple responsibilities effectively

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, day shifts
