An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Director of Pharmacy (DOP)/working Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a newly established behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA. This hospital represents a joint venture between two prominent healthcare organizations and requires an experienced pharmacist to step into a dynamic leadership and clinical role.

This short-term contract assignment is expected to last 13 weeks or more, with potential to transition into a permanent position. The schedule follows standard business days with Monday through Friday day shifts, supporting work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a working PIC, directly involved in dispensing medications and providing pharmaceutical care
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to ensure optimal medication management
  • Supervise and provide oversight of pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient operations
  • Manage restocking of Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) to ensure continuous availability of medications
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards within the pharmacy department

Desired Experience:

  • Current licensure to practice pharmacy in Virginia
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead pharmacy operations in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in behavioral health pharmacy practice preferred
  • Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Ability to manage and mentor pharmacy support staff
