Director of Pharmacy - Lynchburg, VA

A new behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA, is seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy who will serve as the working Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC). This opportunity offers a hands-on leadership role within a small, dynamic facility resulting from a joint venture between notable healthcare organizations. The position is contract-based with an immediate start and a duration of approximately 13 weeks, with potential to transition into a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with regulations
• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
• Oversee and mentor pharmacy technicians
• Maintain and restock Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)
• Monitor inventory and ensure timely procurement of medications and supplies

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist with experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or Director of Pharmacy
• Strong background in behavioral health pharmacy practice preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage a pharmacy team in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and compliance standards relevant to hospital settings
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving
