Director of Pharmacy | Madison Heights, Virginia

A Pharmacist with leadership expertise is needed to serve in a Director of Pharmacy/working Pharmacist-in-Charge role at a small behavioral hospital in Lynchburg, VA. This newly established facility is the result of a joint venture between two prominent healthcare organizations. The position offers an immediate start and is a contract assignment of at least 13 weeks, with potential to transition into a permanent role.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications and maintain accuracy in pharmaceutical distribution
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff to support patient care plans
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and oversee their daily activities
• Manage restocking and inventory control of Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and hospital policies

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Current pharmacist licensure with eligibility to practice in Virginia
• Proven experience in pharmacy management or a Director-level role
• Strong clinical knowledge related to behavioral health medications
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with medical staff
• Ability to perform hands-on dispensing duties while managing operational responsibilities

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, day shifts
