Director of Pharmacy - Manassas, Virginia

An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to lead the pharmacy department at a community hospital in Northern Virginia. This 100-bed facility serves an average daily census of about 20 to 40 patients and is located within a convenient distance from the DC metro area. The position is on a contract basis and offers weekday day-shift hours from Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department ensuring smooth, efficient functioning
• Supervise pharmacy staff to maintain high standards in medication management and patient care
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy laws and policies
• Participate in hospital meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize pharmacy services
• Utilize pharmacy IT systems such as Meditech and Omnicell for effective management and reporting

Qualifications and Experience:

• Hold a valid Virginia Pharmacist license
• Approximately two years of recent inpatient pharmacy management experience
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Familiarity with Meditech and Omnicell systems is required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
