Director of Pharmacy | Manassas, Virginia

A 100-bed community hospital in Northern Virginia is seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy to oversee the day-to-day operations of its pharmacy department. This role is ideal for a pharmacy management professional with experience in inpatient settings who can ensure compliance and regulatory standards are consistently met while supervising pharmacy staff and contributing to interdisciplinary meetings.

Location:

• Northern Virginia (within commuting distance of the DC metro area)
• Community hospital with Average Daily Census of approximately 20-40 patients

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring efficient service delivery and medication safety
• Supervise and support pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative and productive environment
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements
• Participate in administrative and clinical meetings to align pharmacy services with hospital goals
• Utilize pharmacy management systems, specifically Meditech and Omnicell, to optimize workflows

Qualifications:

• Active Virginia Pharmacist license
• Approximately 2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy management experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a diverse pharmacy team
• Familiarity with Meditech and Omnicell systems preferred
