This role offers a unique opportunity to serve as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge at a new behavioral health facility specializing in inpatient care. You will play a crucial leadership role in launching pharmacy operations, ensuring smooth workflow, and supporting patient care in a behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee pharmacy operations and serve as the working Director of Pharmacy
- Manage the opening of the facility’s pharmacy, including stocking and setting up Omnicell automation systems
- Approve medication orders and facilitate safe, efficient medication use
- Participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee meetings
- Provide on-call coverage after day shifts with potential weekend on-call responsibilities
- Utilize and maintain proficiency in HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation (training provided)
- Ensure compliance with regulations and pharmacy standards without sterile compounding responsibilities
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist in Illinois (required)
- Experience directing pharmacy services in an inpatient hospital setting, preferably behavioral health
- Prior use of HCS order entry and Omnicell automation systems preferred
- Strong leadership and organizational skills for managing a pharmacy start-up and ongoing operations
- Local candidates preferred; travel expenses may be reviewed for qualified candidates relocating from outside the area
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, plus on-call coverage after each shift
- Possible weekend on-call responsibilities
