Facility Overview

This is an acute care hospital in Nacogdoches, Texas, with a well-established pharmacy team. The pharmacy staff includes one Clinical Pharmacist, four PRN Pharmacists, five full-time Pharmacy Technicians, and three PRN Pharmacy Technicians. The Interim Director will work alongside this team, providing administrative leadership and operational oversight. No sterile compounding is involved in this role.

Responsibilities

-Serve as Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge overseeing all pharmacy operations
-Provide administrative and operational leadership for the pharmacy department
-Manage pharmacy staffing schedules and personnel oversight
-Lead and mentor pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians
-Ensure regulatory and compliance standards are met across all pharmacy operations
-Coordinate pharmacy in-services and continuing education for staff
-Maintain a focus on quality patient care and medication safety throughout the department
-Verify and process medication orders using Cerner and Siemens order entry systems
-Manage Omnicell automated dispensing systems throughout the facility

Experience

-Inpatient acute care pharmacy experience required
-Pharmacy management or director-level experience required
-Strong regulatory and compliance background preferred
-Experience leading interdisciplinary pharmacy teams preferred

-Strong pharmacy leadership and administrative management skills
-Effective communicator with pharmacy staff, physicians, nurses, and hospital administration
-Comfortable stepping into an interim director role and making an immediate impact
