Director of Pharmacy - Naperville, Illinois

Provide leadership and oversight as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge at a behavioral hospital specializing in psychiatric care. This contract opportunity requires managing pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders while supporting a small team.

Location:

• New Lenox, Illinois (near Naperville)
• Conveniently accessible via Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD)

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• On-call availability 7 days a week
• Weekend coverage handled by part-time pharmacist

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee pharmacy staffing, scheduling, and daily operations within the psychiatric facility
• Lead communication efforts through regular emails and monthly one-on-one meetings with the account manager
• Maintain pharmacy compliance with all regulations and standards
• Support and coordinate with a part-time pharmacist and pharmacy technician responsible for Omnicell restocking and automation management
• Utilize order entry systems, with training provided if needed
• Manage basic financial aspects of the pharmacy department
• Foster a professional work environment adhering to business casual dress code

Qualifications:

• Current Illinois pharmacist licensure
• Minimum three years of hospital management experience preferred
• Prior experience with Omnicell automation strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of psychiatric hospital pharmacy operations a plus

• Onsite training will be provided to support success in the role
• This is a contract position starting mid-August until a permanent candidate is hired
