Director of Pharmacy in Naval Anacost Annex, DC

An Interim Director of Pharmacy position is available at a 100-bed community hospital located near the Northern Virginia area, within commuting distance from the DC metro region. This contract role offers a Monday through Friday day-shift schedule, providing a balanced workweek in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, fostering a productive and compliant work atmosphere.
• Maintain oversight of compliance and regulatory standards in alignment with healthcare laws and policies.
• Participate actively in departmental and hospital-wide meetings to contribute to organizational goals.
• Utilize pharmacy information systems, including Meditech and Omnicell, to manage pharmacy services effectively.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Virginia Pharmacist license is required.
• Approximately two years of recent inpatient pharmacy management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage pharmacy personnel and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with pharmacy IT systems such as Meditech and Omnicell is essential.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards in medication safety and regulatory compliance.

Location: Northern Virginia, close enough for daily commuting from the DC metro area.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Day shifts only
