Director of Pharmacy | New Kensington, Pennsylvania

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Weekend coverage on a rotating basis with about 4 hours of flex time as needed
• Compensatory weekday off granted following weekend work

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a small, close-knit pharmacy team including 1 full-time staff pharmacist, 1 full-time pharmacy technician, and 2 per diem pharmacists
• Serve as a working director and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), actively participating in day-to-day pharmacy operations
• Oversee clinical, administrative, and operational pharmacy functions to maintain high-quality patient care
• Manage the transition from current Med Host and paper systems to an upcoming EPIC electronic health record implementation
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and institutional policies

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Acute care hospital pharmacy experience is mandatory
• Strong leadership experience at the pharmacy management or director level preferred
• Licensed Pharmacist in Pennsylvania or willingness to obtain licensure
• Proven ability to balance hands-on clinical work with administrative duties and team management
• Not suited for retail-only background; this role demands hospital pharmacy expertise
• Excellent organizational, clinical, and operational skills for effective management of a small pharmacy staff
