Lead the pharmacy operations at a behavioral hospital specializing in psychiatric care, serving as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge. This contract opportunity begins August 17th in New Lenox, IL, offering a dynamic environment with a focus on maintaining efficient pharmacy services during the transition to a permanent candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee pharmacy staffing, scheduling, and daily operations to ensure compliance and optimal service
  • Manage communications through emails and monthly one-on-one meetings with the account manager
  • Utilize the Omnicell automation system for medication dispensing and inventory management (training provided)
  • Maintain effective collaboration with a part-time pharmacist and pharmacy technician team
  • Ensure regulatory compliance including Illinois pharmacist licensure requirements
  • Apply basic financial knowledge to support budget management and resource allocation
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to pharmacy-related policy development
  • Provide on-call pharmacy coverage Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, with weekend support handled by a part-time pharmacist

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a pharmacist in Illinois is mandatory
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in pharmacy management preferred
  • Hospital pharmacy background, ideally with exposure to behavioral health settings
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead a small pharmacy team
  • Familiarity with automated dispensing systems, especially Omnicell, is a plus
  • Ability to adapt to training for order entry systems used onsite

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • On-call availability seven days a week
  • Weekends are covered by part-time staff
