Director of Pharmacy - Newark, NJ

Lead pharmacy operations and serve as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health facility in Summit, NJ. This contract position offers an opportunity to apply your expertise in pharmacy management within a supportive, well-structured environment. You will guide daily pharmacy functions, ensuring seamless order verification, medication management, and compliance with state regulations.

Schedule and Coverage:

• Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM plus on-call duties after each shift
• Weekend coverage on-call only

Key Responsibilities:

• Fulfill PIC responsibilities with a minimum of 35 hours per week on-site
• Oversee medication order entry using HCS and manage site automation through Omnicell
• Participate in meetings and contribute to scheduling decisions
• Support data collection efforts for the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee
• Collaborate with a dedicated team including one full-time pharmacy technician and several part-time staff
• Provide relief for current pharmacy staff and help maintain operational continuity
• Adhere to professional dress code standards with comfortable, closed-toe shoes required

Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey Pharmacist licensure is mandatory
• Experience with HCS order entry system
• Familiarity with Omnicell automation is preferred
• Background in healthcare systems (HCS) and policy experience
• Previous leadership experience as a Director of Pharmacy or PIC, especially in behavioral health settings
