Lead pharmacy operations at a behavioral health facility in Summit, NJ, serving as both Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). This contract assignment, lasting approximately 6 to 8 weeks, offers the opportunity to oversee a dedicated team and ensure smooth pharmacy functions in a supportive and well-established setting.
Location: Summit, NJ (Close to Newark Airport)
Schedule and Coverage:
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM plus on-call after each shift
- Weekend on-call coverage only
Key Responsibilities:
- Fulfill PIC duties with a minimum of 35 hours per week
- Manage medication order verification and oversight of pharmacy operations
- Participate in meetings and contribute to scheduling
- Collaborate with staff to collect data for Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee
- Support and relieve current pharmacy staff workload
- Utilize HCS order entry system and assist with Omnicell automation
- Oversee pharmacy technicians, including one full-time and multiple part-time/PRN staff
- Maintain compliance and support recent accreditation and state inspection expectations
- Provide leadership without sterile compounding responsibilities
Desired Qualifications:
- Active New Jersey Pharmacist licensure
- Experience with HCS order entry system; familiarity with Omnicell automation preferred
- Background in behavioral health pharmacy practice
- Knowledge of policy development and healthcare compliance
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a multi-disciplinary pharmacy team
- Commitment to professional and neat appearance; comfortable wearing closed-toe shoes
