This full-time Director of Pharmacy position is located in Yorktown, VA. The role is responsible for overseeing all pharmaceutical services within the hospital, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and leading the pharmacy team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the daily operations of the Pharmacy Department, supervising department supervisors and staff.
  • Ensure that all pharmacy personnel receive proper training, ongoing support, and performance feedback to meet departmental goals.
  • Build employee engagement through talent assessment, learning and development, cross-training, and succession planning.
  • Develop and implement departmental objectives consistent with regulatory standards such as Joint Commission and Board of Pharmacy requirements.
  • Participate in hospital committees and communicate pharmacy policies and procedures across departments.
  • Manage budget recommendations for equipment and operational expenses while projecting departmental revenues.
  • Maintain proper records for pharmaceutical supply requisition and dispensing, including authorized prescriber signatures.
  • Perform pharmacist duties as necessary to support department functions.

Qualifications:

  • Current state licensure as a pharmacist is required.
  • Minimum of three years recent hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently operate a pharmacy in a healthcare environment.
  • Managerial experience of at least one year preferred.
