Director of Pharmacy - Norfolk, Virginia

This leadership opportunity is for a Director of Pharmacy in Yorktown, VA, working full time to oversee comprehensive pharmaceutical services within a hospital setting. The role ensures high-quality pharmacy operations, clinical services delivery, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the daily operations of the Pharmacy Department, supervising supervisors and staff to optimize service quality, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
• Develop and implement departmental objectives aligned with standards such as Joint Commission and Board of Pharmacy requirements.
• Provide ongoing training, performance feedback, and development opportunities to pharmacy staff to enhance skills and engagement.
• Collaborate on budget planning related to capital equipment, operational expenses, and revenue projections.
• Maintain communication of hospital pharmacy policies and procedures and serve on hospital committees as needed.
• Manage systems for proper prescription authorization and pharmaceutical supply requisitioning and dispensing.
• Perform responsibilities consistent with those of a clinical Staff Pharmacist to support pharmacy functions.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current pharmacist license in the state.
• At least three years of hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years.
• Proven ability to manage pharmacy operations efficiently within a healthcare organization.
• One year of managerial experience preferred.
