This full-time Director of Pharmacy position is based in Yorktown, VA, offering the opportunity to lead comprehensive pharmaceutical services within a hospital setting. The role focuses on ensuring quality clinical pharmacy services, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence through strong leadership and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise pharmacy department supervisors and staff, overseeing daily operations to enhance service quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide ongoing training, support, and constructive performance feedback to direct reports, fostering skill development, employee engagement, and succession planning.
  • Develop and implement departmental objectives aligned with regulatory standards such as Joint Commission, DOH, and Board of Pharmacy.
  • Manage budget recommendations for equipment and operational expenses, while projecting departmental revenues.
  • Serve on hospital committees, contributing to policy development and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Maintain systems for authorized prescriber signatures and pharmaceutical supply requisitioning and dispensing.
  • Perform all duties of a Staff Pharmacist, ensuring hands-on expertise supports departmental leadership.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current pharmacist licensure for the state.
  • Minimum of three years hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years.
  • Proven capability to efficiently operate a pharmacy in a healthcare environment.
  • Preferred: At least one year in a managerial or leadership position.
