An Interim Director of Pharmacy opportunity is available at a smaller inpatient facility in Ottumwa, Iowa. This role offers the chance to lead a pharmacy team through a critical transition period, providing strong management and operational oversight while supporting recruitment for a permanent hire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and lead a team of 3 pharmacists and 4 technicians.
- Manage inpatient pharmacy services, including oversight of sterile compounding compliant with USP 797 and 800 standards.
- Provide staffing leadership, coordinate schedules, and participate in meetings to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
- Oversee financial performance related to pharmacy services.
- Assist in stabilizing pharmacy operations and represent the staffing agency during the interim period.
- Provide limited on-call coverage to support staffing needs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Iowa pharmacist license is required.
- Demonstrated experience in inpatient pharmacy operations and staff management.
- Familiarity with Meditech order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to stabilize and improve pharmacy workflow.
- Prior experience with sterile compounding and regulatory compliance.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday business hours with some flexibility as needed.
