Director of Pharmacy in Papillion, NE

An opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy to support an inpatient behavioral health facility. This contract role begins mid-May and continues until a permanent hire is made, providing leadership and management within the pharmacy department.

Location: Council Bluffs, IA
Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6 hours per day

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Manage inventory, including repackaging medications using Milt/Medi-dose or HCL systems
• Utilize Omnicell systems for medication dispensing and restocking
• Supervise pharmacy staff and provide guidance and training as needed
• Run and interpret restock reports to maintain accurate drug levels
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to maintain high-quality patient care

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Iowa pharmacist license is required
• Experience with Omnicell medication management systems highly preferred
• Ability to repackage medications using Milt/Medi-dose or HCL
• Basic knowledge of automated drug loading and inventory management
• Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage workflow and staff guidance
