A behavioral health facility in Summit, NJ seeks an experienced Director of Pharmacy to provide leadership and oversee pharmacy operations. This contract role requires New Jersey pharmacist licensure and offers an opportunity to manage a specialized behavioral health pharmacy team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), fulfilling a minimum of 35 hours per week.
  • Verify medication orders and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in meetings and support staff scheduling.
  • Collect and analyze data to support Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee activities.
  • Provide on-call coverage after shifts and for weekends.
  • Collaborate with tech staff responsible for Omnicell automation and order filling.
  • Relieve workload pressure on current pharmacy staff.
  • Adhere to professional dress code standards, including wearing comfortable, closed-toe shoes.

Qualifications:

  • Active New Jersey pharmacist license required.
  • Experience with Hospital Computer System (HCS) for order entry.
  • Familiarity with Omnicell automation strongly preferred.
  • Background in behavioral health pharmacy practice.
  • Experience with policy development and compliance.
  • Commitment to maintaining a professional and neat appearance.

Schedule and Duration:

  • Contract coverage for 6-8 weeks.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, plus on-call coverage after shifts.
  • Weekend on-call duties only.

Additional Information:

  • The facility recently underwent Joint Commission and State inspections.
  • Pharmacy team includes 1 full-time technician and several part-time or per diem pharmacists and technicians.
  • On-site training and support will be provided by competent staff.
  • Newark Airport is the nearest major airport for travel convenience.
