Director of Pharmacy - Paterson, NJ

A leadership opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy professional to serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy in Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health facility in New Jersey. This contract position offers a chance to drive pharmacy operations, support clinical services, and ensure compliance in a specialized healthcare setting.

Location: Summit, NJ
Contract Duration: 6-8 weeks
Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• On-call coverage after each shift and on weekends

Responsibilities:

• Oversee pharmacy operations and fulfill PIC duties with a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week
• Manage order verification using HCS order entry system
• Collaborate on policy development and compliance initiatives, including data collection for Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee
• Participate in meetings, scheduling, and staff support functions
• Provide leadership to pharmacy technicians and per-diem pharmacists within a behavioral health environment
• Support and relieve current pharmacy staff
• On-site training provided by an experienced and competent team
• Ensure adherence to professional dress code and maintain a clean, safe work environment

Qualifications:

• Active New Jersey Pharmacist licensure required
• Proven experience with HCS order entry system and familiarity with Omnicell automation is advantageous
• Prior policy development and healthcare system experience beneficial
• Strong leadership and communication skills within a behavioral health pharmacy setting
