An experienced pharmacy professional is needed to manage pharmacy operations in a behavioral health facility in Summit, NJ. This role combines responsibilities as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), requiring strong leadership and clinical skills within a specialized setting.
Location: Summit, NJ (near Newark Airport)
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- On-call coverage after each weekday shift
- Weekend on-call coverage only
Contract Duration: 6 to 8 weeks
Key Responsibilities:
- Fulfill PIC duties with a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week
- Oversee order verification and manage pharmacy meetings and scheduling
- Lead data collection efforts for Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee activities
- Support and relieve current pharmacy staff through hands-on leadership
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians for order filling, including utilization of Omnicell automation system
- Maintain compliance with all policies and regulatory requirements
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide pharmacy support outside of regular hours
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active New Jersey Pharmacist licensure required
- Proficiency with HCS order entry system is essential
- Experience with pharmacy policy development and implementation
- Familiarity with Omnicell automation preferred
- Previous leadership experience in a behavioral health pharmacy setting highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities

- Behavioral health specialty with supportive, competent staff including 1 full-time and several part-time/PRN technicians and pharmacists
- No sterile compounding responsibilities
- Recent Joint Commission and state inspections completed with positive outcomes
