Oversee the pharmacy operations at a new behavioral health facility as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) in Peoria, IL. This contract role is ideal for a licensed Illinois pharmacist with inpatient hospital experience who thrives in leadership positions and is ready to make an immediate impact by launching and managing pharmacy services in a dynamic setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading pharmacy services for a behavioral health facility during its opening phase
- Overseeing medication stocking and managing the Omnicell automated dispensing system
- Approving medication orders using the HCS order entry system
- Participating in P&T committee meetings to establish and maintain pharmacy standards
- Managing on-call duties Monday through Friday with potential weekend coverage
- Setting up pharmacy operations from the ground up without sterile compounding responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Current Illinois pharmacist license
- Proven experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy operations
- Leadership ability to direct pharmacy services independently
- Familiarity with HCS and Omnicell preferred; comprehensive training will be provided
- Comfortable working in behavioral health specialty areas
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with on-call coverage following shifts
- Possible weekend on-call coverage as needed
