Oversee the pharmacy operations at a new behavioral health facility as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) in Peoria, IL. This contract role is ideal for a licensed Illinois pharmacist with inpatient hospital experience who thrives in leadership positions and is ready to make an immediate impact by launching and managing pharmacy services in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading pharmacy services for a behavioral health facility during its opening phase
  • Overseeing medication stocking and managing the Omnicell automated dispensing system
  • Approving medication orders using the HCS order entry system
  • Participating in P&T committee meetings to establish and maintain pharmacy standards
  • Managing on-call duties Monday through Friday with potential weekend coverage
  • Setting up pharmacy operations from the ground up without sterile compounding responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois pharmacist license
  • Proven experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy operations
  • Leadership ability to direct pharmacy services independently
  • Familiarity with HCS and Omnicell preferred; comprehensive training will be provided
  • Comfortable working in behavioral health specialty areas

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with on-call coverage following shifts
  • Possible weekend on-call coverage as needed

This contract assignment starts as soon as May 25th and extends through July, with flexibility on the end date. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of establishing pharmacy services in a new behavioral health hospital with full support and training.
