Director of Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, PA

This role calls for an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as a Director of Pharmacy in an acute care hospital environment. As a working director, you will lead a small, dedicated pharmacy team and actively participate in daily operations while overseeing administrative and clinical functions. This position is a direct hire opportunity based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Weekend coverage required on a rotating basis, approximately 4 hours (flexible based on patient needs)
• When a weekend shift is worked, a compensating weekday off is provided

Responsibilities:

• Manage pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulations
• Directly supervise a small team including 1 full-time pharmacist, 1 full-time pharmacy technician, and 2 per diem pharmacists
• Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) with responsibility for both clinical and operational leadership
• Oversee transition from current Med Host and paper systems to a planned EPIC implementation
• Maintain active engagement in daily pharmacy workflows alongside administrative duties

Qualifications:

• Acute care hospital pharmacy experience is a strict requirement
• Pharmacy management or director-level experience strongly preferred
• Proven ability to manage and lead a small pharmacy team with direct reports
• Strong administrative, clinical, and operational skills essential
• Pennsylvania Pharmacist License required, or willingness to obtain
• Candidates with retail-only backgrounds will not be considered
