Oversee pharmacy operations at a behavioral health facility as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). This contract role begins mid-August and extends until a permanent candidate is hired. The position offers the opportunity to lead pharmaceutical services in a specialized psychiatric setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage pharmacy staffing, scheduling, and workflow to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate pharmacy progress and updates through regular emails and monthly one-on-one meetings.
- Maintain pharmacy compliance and standards without sterile compounding.
- Utilize and support pharmacy automation systems, including Omnicell, with training available.
- Participate in meetings related to pharmacy activities and performance.
- Provide on-call pharmacy services seven days a week, with weekends covered by a part-time pharmacist.
- Support and collaborate with a part-time pharmacist and pharmacy technician team.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist in Illinois is required.
- Minimum of three years in pharmacy management, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Experience with psychiatric or behavioral health pharmacy preferred.
- Familiarity with order entry systems; training provided if needed.
- Strong communication skills and basic understanding of pharmacy financials.
- Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, plus on-call availability.
