Home Infusion Assistant Director of Pharmacy | Pleasanton, California

A full-time leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy specializing in home infusion within a specialty pharmacy setting. This role involves comprehensive oversight of pharmacy operations and staff to ensure the delivery of exceptional pharmacy services and medical supplies in alignment with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead pharmacy and operational functions to guarantee efficient and compliant service delivery.
• Maintain strict adherence to USP 797 and USP 800 standards, alongside State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Oversee compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring services safely and effectively.
• Ensure all pharmacy practices comply with local, state, and federal licensing and standards.
• Prepare prescriptions, solutions, and medications accurately and promptly.
• Assess patient, drug, and disease information to identify potential drug-related issues and develop or update patient care plans.
• Supervise Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Interns in formulation preparation and quality assurance.
• Manage controlled substances handling including security, distribution, and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and referral sources as necessary.
• Act as a drug information resource supporting sales team efforts.
• Participate in on-call scheduling and provide coverage as needed.
• Manage direct reports through hiring, training, performance management, goal setting, conflict resolution, and strategic planning.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or R.Ph. license with appropriate clinical experience.
• Current and good-standing California pharmacist license; additional licensure may be required.
• Minimum 3-5 years pharmacy experience with direct compounding strongly preferred.
• Specialty pharmacy or home infusion experience highly desirable.
• CPR certification and Care Tend proficiency are advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

This direct hire position offers a competitive compensation range of $175,000 - $185,000 based on experience.
