Director of Pharmacy in Pleasanton, CA

A full-time leadership role is available for an experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead a Specialty Home Infusion Pharmacy in Pleasanton, CA. This position directs pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulations while delivering high-quality pharmacy services and medical supplies to patients and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all pharmacy and operations functions to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to USP 797, USP 800, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Provide and supervise compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring services safely and accurately.
• Prepare prescriptions, medications, and formulations, ensuring precision and safety.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of patient drug and disease information to identify and address medication-related needs.
• Manage controlled substances including their preparation, distribution, security, and maintenance.
• Serve as a drug information resource and collaborate with physicians and referral sources.
• Lead pharmacist team hiring, training, performance management, and strategic planning.
• Participate in and coordinate pharmacist on-call schedules.
• Support sales efforts through drug information and clinical insights.
• Perform other managerial and clinical duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph.) with relevant clinical experience.
• Current and good-standing California pharmacist license; additional licenses as required.
• 3-5 years of pharmacist experience, preferably with direct compounding and specialty pharmacy or home infusion expertise.
• Strong knowledge of infusion therapies and pharmacy operations.
• CPR certification and CareTend proficiency are desirable.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
