This role offers an opportunity to lead inpatient pharmacy services in a diverse clinical setting, overseeing a team of pharmacists and technicians while ensuring efficient medication management and regulatory compliance. The position requires strong leadership skills and expertise in managing a wide range of specialty areas including OB (excluding NICU/high-risk pregnancy), orthopedics, pediatrics (excluding PICU), oncology, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, adult behavioral health, endocrinology, podiatry, general surgery, rheumatology, and wound care.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Job Type: Contract (Coverage Dates: 7/7/26 to 11/7/26)
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct inpatient pharmacy operations and supervise 4.5 pharmacist FTEs and 6 technician FTEs
- Develop and manage work schedules for pharmacy staff
- Collaborate with the Buyer to resolve medication supply chain challenges
- Lead Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee: prepare agendas, conduct meetings, and implement initiatives
- Participate in three medical staff committees and COPD readmission reduction meetings monthly
- Conduct monthly departmental meetings and daily weekday huddles
- Oversee ordering and management of controlled substances twice weekly
- Manage payroll and access rights within the Pyxis system
- Serve as an accessible resource to pharmacy staff for questions or concerns (no formal on-call required)
- Potential involvement in sterile compounding processes for staff coverage as needed
- Prepare for upcoming Joint Commission survey in fall 2026
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Missouri Pharmacist License
- Medication Therapy Services certification
- Extensive inpatient pharmacy experience
- Familiarity with Meditech Expanse, especially managing the drug dictionary, preferred
- Proven leadership and organizational abilities

- Onsite training provided over a two-week period prior to maternity leave
