This leadership role oversees Inpatient Pharmacy Services at a well-established healthcare facility, managing a dedicated team of pharmacists and technicians in a diverse clinical environment. The position requires a licensed Missouri pharmacist with Medication Therapy Services certification to provide expert oversight and support for pharmacy operations from July through November 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead pharmacy department operations, including creating schedules for pharmacists and technicians
- Collaborate with the Buyer to resolve medication supply chain challenges
- Chair the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, managing agendas, meetings, and implementation of initiatives
- Participate in three monthly medical staff committees and COPD readmissions reduction meetings
- Conduct monthly department meetings and weekday daily huddles
- Oversee ordering of controlled substances bi-weekly and manage payroll along with Pyxis access controls
- Provide resource support to pharmacy staff during regular hours; no on-call duty required
- Potential involvement in sterile compounding, primarily as backup during staff absences
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Missouri pharmacist license
- Medication Therapy Services certification
- Proven inpatient pharmacy experience
- Familiarity with Meditech Expanse preferred, especially drug dictionary management
- Strong leadership and communication skills suitable for multi-disciplinary collaboration
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
This contract opportunity offers onsite training for two weeks prior to maternity leave coverage, providing a smooth transition into the role.
