This opportunity offers a critical leadership role overseeing pharmacy operations as the Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge for two healthcare facilities specializing in psychiatric care. The role begins by October 5th and spans approximately 8 to 12 weeks, covering a 40-hour workweek alongside on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage staffing and scheduling across two facilities to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
- Lead staff management efforts, including supervision of 2 pharmacy technicians and 3 PRN pharmacists.
- Participate actively in committee work related to pharmacy services.
- Maintain continuity of services to support patient care amid the current Director of Pharmacy’s leave.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Pharmacist license is mandatory.
- Demonstrated management experience in pharmacy settings.
- Hospital experience preferred but not required if possessing a strong management skill set.
- Ability to work within a Monday-Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM plus on-call duties.
- Weekend coverage may be needed on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn the HCS order entry system (training provided).
Facility Highlights:
- Licensed for 125 beds with an average daily census of 120 patients.
- Operational pharmacy support with technician coverage Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Specialty psychiatric focus with no current automation in place.
