Step into a leadership role as the Interim Director of Pharmacy at a new inpatient behavioral health facility in Saint Louis, MO. This contract position offers the opportunity to establish and manage pharmacy operations from the ground up, supporting a licensed 12-bed unit with plans to expand to 96 beds. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy services and Pyxis automation, contributing directly to patient care and facility readiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead pharmacy setup and ongoing operations in collaboration with C-suite executives and Area Director of Pharmacy.
  • Oversee procurement, packaging, and stocking of medications, ensuring Pyxis units are fully operational and stocked.
  • Perform order verification following patient admissions.
  • Provide on-call support during weekdays and weekends.
  • Participate in remote training sessions and coordinate with Area DOP for smooth operational launch.
  • Manage all pharmacy functions independently without additional pharmacy or tech staff support.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current Missouri Pharmacist license with authorization for Medication Therapy Services.
  • Proven experience in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy practice.
  • Proficiency with Pyxis automation systems.
  • Familiarity with HCS order entry system (training provided).
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with leadership teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Local candidates preferred due to the on-site nature of the role.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with additional on-call duties.
  • Weekend on-call availability required.

Location:

  • Saint Louis, Missouri, near St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
  • Business casual or scrubs attire (no specific color required).

This contract assignment is expected to commence July 6th and continue for approximately eight weeks or until permanent placement.
