An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy at a newly launching behavioral health facility in St. Louis, MO. This contract position will begin July 6th and extends for approximately eight weeks or until a permanent hire is in place. The facility specializes in inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health services, expanding from an initial 12 licensed beds up to 96.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee ongoing pharmacy setup from startup phase through the official go-live anticipated on July 13, 2026.
- Collaborate closely with C-suite executives and the Area Director of Pharmacy to ensure seamless pharmacy operations.
- Manage procurement, packaging, and stocking of medications, primarily using Pyxis automation.
- Perform order verification once patients begin admission.
- Support pharmacy operations Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, including on-call weekend coverage.
- Maintain leadership in a setting without additional pharmacy staff or technician support.
- Engage in remote training sessions provided by the Area Director of Pharmacy.
Desired Qualifications:
- Missouri Pharmacist license with qualifications to provide Medication Therapy Services.
- Demonstrated experience with inpatient behavioral health pharmacy practice.
- Proficiency with Pyxis medication automation systems.
- Familiarity with HCS order entry system (training will be provided).
- Ability to work independently and effectively communicate at executive levels.
- Local candidates preferred due to on-site responsibilities and coordination needs.
