Director of Pharmacy in Saint Louis, MO

An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy at a newly opening behavioral health facility in St. Louis, MO. This role requires an experienced pharmacy professional to lead pharmacy operations starting July 6th, with an expected duration of approximately 8+ weeks until a permanent Director is hired. This is a contract position well-suited for candidates with a Missouri pharmacist license and expertise in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead pharmacy setup efforts including procurement, packaging, and stocking of medications
• Manage Pyxis system operations and oversee order verification as patient admissions commence
• Collaborate closely with C-suite executives and the Area Director of Pharmacy to ensure seamless pharmacy integration
• Provide on-call coverage Monday through Friday with weekend on-call support and possibly additional assistance during the initial startup phase
• Participate in remote training sessions with the Area Director of Pharmacy
• Perform duties independently; site has no additional pharmacy staff or technician support

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Missouri Pharmacist license, including credentialing for Medication Therapy Services (MTS)
• Experience in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy operations
• Proficiency with Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems
• Familiarity with order entry software; training on HCS will be provided
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with executive leadership
• Preference given to candidates local to the St. Louis area

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, plus on-call coverage
• Weekend on-call only
