Director of Pharmacy - Saint Louis, Missouri

Step into a pivotal leadership role as the Interim Director of Pharmacy at a newly launching behavioral health facility in St. Louis, MO. This contract position offers the unique opportunity to shape pharmacy operations from the ground up in a specialized inpatient psychiatric setting. Beginning July 6th, you will play an essential role through the initial go-live phase and beyond for approximately 8+ weeks until a permanent hire is onboarded.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead pharmacy setup and ongoing operations tailored to behavioral health needs
• Coordinate medication procurement, packaging, and stock management in Pyxis automation system
• Verify orders and ensure medication safety for patients upon admission
• Maintain clear communication with C-suite leadership and Area Director of Pharmacy
• Provide on-call support Monday through Friday 8am-4pm, with weekend on-call coverage
• Collaborate remotely with Area Director for training and process development

Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in Missouri with Medication Therapy Services certification
• Proven expertise in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy operations
• Hands-on experience with Pyxis automated dispensing systems
• Familiarity or willingness to train on HCS order entry system
• Ability to work independently without pharmacy technicians or other pharmacy staff onsite
• Local candidates preferred to ensure seamless coverage and support
