An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) position at a behavioral health treatment center in San Antonio, TX. This contract role begins on September 1, 2026, and will continue until a permanent hire is selected. The facility specializes in behavioral health with a 300+ licensed bed capacity and maintains an average daily census of 6-11 patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee pharmacy operations as the PIC, ensuring compliance with regulations and pharmacy standards
  • Manage pharmacy staffing and administrative duties
  • Utilize Order Entry System (HCS) with provided training
  • Implement and manage site automation with Omnicell systems (training provided)
  • Provide on-call coverage after each shift and throughout weekends
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to support behavioral health pharmaceutical needs

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Current Texas pharmacist licensure (required)
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy settings and Omnicell automation preferred
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage pharmacy staff effectively
  • Ability to work flexible hours during weekdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, plus on-call duties

  • Pharmacy staff includes one full-time pharmacist and one per diem pharmacist
  • The site is in the process of regaining CMS accreditation and rebuilding pharmacy operations after recent changes
