Director of Pharmacy - San Diego, California

An interim leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Director of Pharmacy to oversee operations at a 70-bed Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital in San Diego, CA. This contract position offers a chance to take charge of pharmacy functions, holding the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) responsibility for the site. The role is ideal for a licensed California pharmacist with previous Director of Pharmacy experience within the state who is ready to make an immediate impact.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive oversight and management of the pharmacy department
• Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality assurance
• Lead pharmacy staff and coordinate daily pharmacy operations to optimize patient care
• Utilize RX Connect system for pharmacy information technology needs
• Collaborate with hospital leadership to maintain safe and effective medication distribution

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid California pharmacist license
• Proven experience as Director of Pharmacy within California healthcare settings, ideally including LTAC or similar facilities
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Familiarity with pharmacy IT systems, especially RX Connect
• Ability to start immediately and commit to an initial 13-week assignment

Contract Details:

• 13 weeks initial duration with potential to transition to permanent
• Full-time contract role with weekday day shifts
