Director of Pharmacy - San Diego, California

A leadership opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy at a 70-bed long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital in San Diego, CA. This contract role offers an immediate start and is expected to last 13 weeks, with potential for temp-to-hire transition.

The Director of Pharmacy will oversee all pharmacy operations, serving as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for the facility. This role is essential to ensure smooth pharmacy workflow, compliance with regulations, and optimal patient care outcomes. The position works Monday through Friday during day shifts, providing a structured schedule in a dynamic healthcare environment. The hospital utilizes RX Connect for pharmacy IT, so proficiency or the ability to quickly adapt to this system is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight for all pharmacy services within the 70-bed LTAC hospital
• Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for the site, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
• Manage pharmacy staff and resources effectively to maintain high standards of pharmaceutical care
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote safe medication practices and optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize RX Connect system for pharmacy operations and reporting

Qualifications:

• Valid California Pharmacist license required
• Previous experience as a Director of Pharmacy in California, preferably in an LTAC or acute care setting
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a commitment to regulatory compliance
• Ability to start immediately and commit to the duration of the assignment
