This opportunity offers a leadership role as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health facility specializing in mental health care. The position is a 6-8 week contract, providing critical pharmacy oversight and operational management Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, with additional on-call duties after each shift and on weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the PIC, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and pharmacy standards
  • Oversee medication order verification using the HCS order entry system
  • Support and manage pharmacy staff including one full-time technician and several part-time and per-diem personnel
  • Participate in meetings and pharmacy and therapeutics (P&T) data collection efforts
  • Facilitate pharmacy workflow while relieving existing staff workload
  • Engage in site-specific training with experienced team members
  • Collaborate with the behavioral health care team while maintaining a professional and compliant pharmacy environment

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current New Jersey Pharmacist license required
  • Proven experience with HCS order entry system strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Omnicell automation technology is advantageous
  • Background in behavioral health pharmacy services considered a plus
  • Experience with policy development and regulatory compliance (e.g., Joint Commission standards)
  • Ability to fulfill PIC responsibilities at a minimum of 35 hours per week
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

  • Behavioral health facility located in Summit, NJ
  • Conveniently near Newark Airport for ease of travel if needed
