An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to lead pharmacy operations at an acute care facility with 71 licensed beds and an average daily census of 25-30 patients. This contract role begins September 14th and extends for approximately 13 weeks until a permanent candidate is hired.
Location: Troy, OH
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (no weekend or on-call coverage required)
Licensure: Must hold an active Ohio Pharmacist license

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee pharmacy staffing, scheduling, and training programs, including pharmacist and technician teams (total 10+ FTEs) and nursing coverage for the Coumadin Clinic
- Lead USP 797/800 competency training and sterile compounding oversight
- Manage clinical committees such as P&T (Pharmacy & Therapeutics), safety, QAPI, budget, strategic sourcing, stroke, and sepsis meetings
- Coordinate diversion monitoring, drug shortage management, and data consolidation activities
- Handle IT updates related to EPIC and drug library management, including Baxter pump drug library build and Pyxis server upgrade
- Prepare for regulatory reporting (340B State of Ohio) and upcoming ACHC inspection window beginning November 2027
- Facilitate QS1 to BestRx outpatient script transition expected to start in January
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience within an acute care pharmacy, especially in managing pharmacists, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, USP standards, and 340B program oversight
- Strong knowledge of EPIC pharmacy systems and experience with drug library management
- Experience participating in or leading P&T and other clinical committees
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines, including technology transitions and competency testing
