Director of Pharmacy in Washington, DC

An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to provide leadership at a 100-bed community hospital near Washington, DC, in Northern Virginia. This role involves overseeing the pharmacy's daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding a dedicated team. The hospital maintains an average daily census of 20 to 40 patients, offering a dynamic but manageable environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise pharmacy staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary meetings, contributing pharmacy expertise to clinical and operational discussions.
• Oversee medication distribution systems and technology, including Meditech and Omnicell.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department.

Qualifications:

• Current Virginia Pharmacist license is required.
• Approximately 2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy management experience.
• Proficiency with Meditech and Omnicell systems strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Location:

• Northern Virginia, conveniently accessible from the Washington, DC metro area.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, daytime shifts.
