This opportunity invites a seasoned Pharmacy Director to lead the pharmacy operations at a newly established behavioral hospital. This contract role offers the chance to shape pharmacy services from the ground up, overseeing daily operations and ensuring compliance within a focused behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the working Director of Pharmacy, managing all aspects of pharmacy operations.
- Lead the initial setup of the pharmacy, including stocking and managing Omnicell automation.
- Approve medication orders and collaborate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) meetings.
- Provide on-call support during weekdays and potentially on weekends.
- Oversee compliance and operational standards in a new facility environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois pharmacist licensure is required.
- Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy, preferably in behavioral health.
- Familiarity with HCS order entry systems and Omnicell automation is preferred; training will be provided.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, as there is no tech support staff.
- Local candidates are preferred; consideration of travel expenses is possible.
Location: Peoria, Illinois
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with on-call duties after shifts.
- Possible weekend on-call coverage.

- This is a contract position with coverage starting as soon as May 25th through July, with potential for date adjustments.
