This opportunity invites a seasoned Pharmacy Director to lead the pharmacy operations at a newly established behavioral hospital. This contract role offers the chance to shape pharmacy services from the ground up, overseeing daily operations and ensuring compliance within a focused behavioral health setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the working Director of Pharmacy, managing all aspects of pharmacy operations.
  • Lead the initial setup of the pharmacy, including stocking and managing Omnicell automation.
  • Approve medication orders and collaborate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) meetings.
  • Provide on-call support during weekdays and potentially on weekends.
  • Oversee compliance and operational standards in a new facility environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Illinois pharmacist licensure is required.
  • Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy, preferably in behavioral health.
  • Familiarity with HCS order entry systems and Omnicell automation is preferred; training will be provided.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, as there is no tech support staff.
  • Local candidates are preferred; consideration of travel expenses is possible.

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with on-call duties after shifts.
  • Possible weekend on-call coverage.

  • Business casual dress code.
  • Training for HCS and Omnicell systems will be provided.
  • Nearest major airport: Peoria International Airport.
  • This is a contract position with coverage starting as soon as May 25th through July, with potential for date adjustments.
