Director of Pharmacy - Washington, Illinois

A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge at a newly opening behavioral hospital in Peoria, IL. This contract position offers the chance to establish pharmacy operations from the ground up within an inpatient behavioral health setting.

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• On-call coverage required after each shift and possible weekend on-call

Responsibilities include:

• Managing all pharmacy operations as the working Director of Pharmacy for a new facility
• Overseeing the setup and stocking of Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets
• Approving medication orders and ensuring safe, compliant pharmacy practices
• Participating in Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee meetings
• Collaborating with staff to establish efficient workflows in a pharmacy without technician support
• Engaging in training for site-specific technologies including HCS order entry and Omnicell systems

Preferred qualifications and experience:

• Valid Illinois pharmacist licensure
• Background in inpatient hospital pharmacy, particularly behavioral health settings
• Familiarity with HCS order entry and Omnicell automation preferred

This position offers valuable hands-on leadership experience in launching pharmacy services in a behavioral health facility, with support and training on relevant systems provided. Immediate start is needed by May 25th, with coverage extending through July (end date may change).
