A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy with a focus on serving a behavioral health facility. This contract role is based in Peoria, IL, at a new-start inpatient behavioral hospital. The position requires dedication to establishing pharmacy operations from the ground up while providing direct oversight and hands-on management.

Responsibilities include managing all pharmacy operations as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge. You will play a critical role in approving medication orders, stocking and overseeing site automation through Omnicell, leading the Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee, and setting up pharmacy systems tailored to an inpatient behavioral setting. This role requires flexibility with on-call responsibilities during weekdays and possible weekend support.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Illinois with a valid state license
  • Directorial experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy, preferably behavioral health
  • Familiarity with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation is strongly preferred
  • Ability to lead a solo pharmacy staff without technician support in a start-up environment
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to establish pharmacy policies and protocols

Schedule and Location:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, plus daily on-call after shifts
  • Weekend on-call coverage as needed
  • Location: Peoria, IL (Washington, IL vicinity)

This contract engagement begins as soon as May 25th with an anticipated end date in July, subject to potential extension.
