An Interim Director of Pharmacy opportunity is available at a 100-bed community hospital near Washington Navy Yard, DC. This position involves leadership and management within a busy pharmacy department serving an average daily census of 20 to 40 patients. The role is Monday through Friday, day shifts, providing a structured workweek.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day pharmacy department operations, ensuring smooth workflow.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative, efficient team environment.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Attend interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate patient care and pharmacy services.
- Manage medication distribution systems, including experience with Meditech and Omnicell platforms.
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Pharmacist license is required.
- Approximately 2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy management experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive operational excellence.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards in healthcare.
- Proficiency in pharmacy IT systems, specifically Meditech and Omnicell.
