Oversee the inpatient pharmacy operations at a healthcare facility located in West Plains, Missouri, serving as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) during the coverage period from early July to early November 2026. This contract role is ideal for a pharmacy professional with inpatient experience, ready to lead a multidisciplinary pharmacy team in a dynamic hospital setting.

Location: West Plains, MO
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Contract Duration: July 7, 2026 – November 7, 2026
Licensure Required: Missouri pharmacist license and Medication Therapy Services certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily inpatient pharmacy operations including staff scheduling for 4.5 pharmacist FTEs and 6 technician FTEs
  • Act as a resource to pharmacy staff for clinical and operational queries without on-call duties
  • Manage Meditech Expanse drug dictionary and coordinate with the Buyer for medication supply chain issues
  • Conduct Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings: create agendas, run meetings, and implement approved initiatives
  • Participate in monthly medical staff and COPD readmission reduction meetings
  • Oversee controlled substance orders twice weekly and manage payroll and access for Pyxis users
  • Facilitate monthly department meetings and daily weekday huddles
  • Support sterile compounding on an as-needed basis during staff absences

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven inpatient pharmacy experience
  • Familiarity with Meditech Expanse order entry system preferred
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage committees and pharmacy staff effectively

Additional Information:

  • Training provided onsite for two weeks prior to maternity leave start
  • Dress code: Business casual or scrubs (any color or print)
