Director of Pharmacy - Whiting, IA

An urgent opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy to lead pharmacy operations within a Critical Access Hospital setting. This position is based in Iowa and is available as a contract-to-hire role, offering an excellent chance to oversee a 25-bed facility's inpatient pharmacy services.

Location:

• Onsite in Iowa

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily inpatient pharmacy activities including medication dispensing, order verification, inventory control, and compliance with all regulatory standards
• Supervise, train, and schedule pharmacy staff to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient medication distribution throughout the hospital
• Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies and procedures
• Lead medication safety initiatives and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership to enhance patient care quality

Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist in Iowa or ability to obtain licensure (required)
• Minimum of 3 years’ hospital inpatient pharmacy experience (required)
• Experience with Omnicell or Epic pharmacy systems (preferred)
• Knowledge of antibiotic stewardship programs (preferred)
• Familiarity with USP 797/800 standards (preferred)
