This contract opportunity is for an experienced Director of Pharmacy to oversee inpatient pharmacy services. The position requires a Missouri pharmacist license and Medication Therapy Services certification to provide leadership and support in a hospital setting. Coverage is from July 7, 2026, through November 7, 2026, with work hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for inpatient pharmacy operations.
  • Lead the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, including agenda creation, meeting facilitation, and implementation of approved initiatives.
  • Develop weekly schedules for pharmacists and technicians.
  • Collaborate with the Buyer to resolve medication supply chain challenges.
  • Attend multiple medical staff and COPD readmissions reduction meetings monthly.
  • Conduct daily department huddles during weekdays and monthly department meetings.
  • Manage controlled substance ordering twice weekly.
  • Oversee payroll and Pyxis access management.
  • Provide guidance and act as a resource for pharmacy staff concerns without on-call duties.
  • Potentially perform sterile compounding during staff shortages.
  • Participate in onboarding and training, including two weeks of onsite training prior to maternity leave.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Missouri.
  • Medication Therapy Services certification.
  • Inpatient pharmacy experience.
  • Familiarity with Meditech Expanse preferred, particularly managing drug dictionaries.
  • Leadership capabilities in pharmacy operational management.
