An immediate opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health facility in Byron Center, MI. This contract role provides critical leadership and pharmacy oversight for a specialized patient population with an average daily census of 40. The position requires a valid Michigan pharmacist license in good standing and offers a unique chance to impact pharmaceutical care within a behavioral health setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory to support uninterrupted patient care
  • Provide leadership and direction as the Director of Pharmacy (DOP)
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations without technician support
  • Utilize HCS order entry system and manage Omnicell automation (experience preferred)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams focusing on behavioral health pharmacy needs

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Michigan with active license and good standing
  • Experience in behavioral health pharmacy is highly advantageous
  • Proficiency with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred
  • Strong leadership skills to manage a pharmacy staff and system independently
  • Ability to maintain inventory control and order verification processes efficiently

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm onsite
  • Saturday, 9:00 am to 11:00 am remote coverage

Location:

  • Byron Center, Michigan, near Gerald Ford International Airport (GRR)
  • Facility dress code requires purple scrubs
