A leading critical access illness recovery hospital in York, PA, seeks a dedicated Director of Pharmacy to oversee its inpatient post-ICU pharmacy services. This full-time role is perfect for a pharmacy professional committed to delivering exceptional care to chronic, critically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery. The successful candidate will play a strategic role in fostering a patient-centered culture while driving clinical excellence and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management of the hospital pharmacy.
- Ensure accurate preparation and dispensing of medications.
- Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards.
- Manage and administer the Adverse Drug Reaction Program.
- Develop and conduct training and education programs for pharmacy staff.
- Participate in quality assurance activities related to drug utilization and effectiveness.
- Monitor patient drug therapy and promote continuous quality improvement.
- Implement at least one clinically oriented program annually (e.g., Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service, Patient Counseling, Pain Management Services).
- Provide patient and family education and counseling.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and clinical teams to align pharmacy services with hospital goals.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of all educational requirements for state licensure.
- Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years.
- Current state pharmacy license and BLS certification if required.
- Preferred: PharmD or BS Pharm with an advanced degree or hospital pharmacy residency.
- At least one year in a managerial role is preferred.
- Board Certification and/or Residency preferred.
