A leadership role overseeing pharmacy operations at a critical access illness recovery hospital in York, PA, offers the opportunity to impact patient outcomes in a post-ICU setting. This full-time Director of Pharmacy position is ideal for a pharmacy professional dedicated to integrating patient-centered care with operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management of the hospital pharmacy.
  • Prepare medications accurately while ensuring adherence to The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards.
  • Manage and administer the Adverse Drug Reaction Program effectively.
  • Develop and conduct training and education programs for new pharmacy staff.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives focused on drug utilization and effectiveness.
  • Monitor patient drug therapy and contribute to clinical care decisions.
  • Develop at least one new clinically oriented program annually, such as Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service or Pain Management Services.
  • Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • Provide patient and family education and counseling.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Completion of all educational requirements for state pharmacy licensure.
  • Minimum three years of hospital experience within the past five years.
  • Active state pharmacy license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification if required.
  • Preferred: PharmD or BS Pharmacy with an advanced degree or completion of a hospital pharmacy residency.
  • At least one year in a managerial role is desired.
  • Board Certification and/or Residency completion strongly preferred.
