This opportunity is for a travel pharmacist position in a rural hospital setting in Northern Wisconsin. The hospital has 75 beds and features diverse inpatient and outpatient departments, offering a dynamic work environment for pharmacy professionals.

The assignment is contract-based, starting as soon as possible, with an expected duration of 13 weeks or longer. The schedule primarily consists of day shifts with mainly 10-hour shifts. Occasionally, weekend rotations require 8-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple concurrent tasks in a central inpatient pharmacy, including verifying medication orders in EPIC, reviewing technician work for accuracy, and managing communications via pharmacist phone lines.
  • Prepare and provide inpatient and outpatient intravenous medications, inpatient unit dose medications, and outpatient chemotherapy treatments.
  • Support various hospital departments such as Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, outpatient oncology, emergency department, and surgical units.
  • Maintain high standards of medication safety and accuracy while managing a typical inpatient census of 30-40 patients.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist with experience working in hospital pharmacy settings.
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Comfortable managing a fast-paced inpatient pharmacy and demonstrating strong multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.

  • Rural Northern Wisconsin

Schedule:

  • Day shifts predominantly 10 hours with weekend rotations of 8 hours
