Schedule:
- Days, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- No weekend shifts; pharmacy closed on weekends
Position Overview: This contract role, with potential for extension beyond 13 weeks and flexibility for part-time, PRN, or travel arrangements, involves supervising pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care. You will provide mentorship, manage workflow, and oversee compliance with quality assurance standards while fostering a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate pharmacy personnel; manage recruitment and disciplinary actions
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all regulatory requirements
- Counsel patients on medication use, potential side effects, and storage
- Conduct comprehensive medication reviews and participate in medication therapy management (MTM) activities
- Manage medication inventory, including inspections and disposal of outdated drugs
- Ensure accuracy in prescription reviews, preparation, and dispensing
- Promote staff development and professional growth through education and training
- Maintain records of licensure, training, and compliance documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree required
- Current pharmacist license in New Mexico
- 1-3 years of registered pharmacist experience; 1-2 years management experience preferred
- Retail 340B experience is a plus
- APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certification required
