A leadership role is available for a licensed Pharmacist to oversee pharmacy operations at a retail location in Plattsburgh, NY. This direct hire position offers an opportunity for a dedicated professional to manage the pharmacy department while providing exceptional patient care and community services.
Location: Plattsburgh, NY
Schedule: Variable, including evening shifts as needed
Hours: Typically 4x10 or 4x12 schedules (e.g., 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Register with the state board of pharmacy as supervising pharmacist or pharmacist in charge.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations governing pharmacy operations.
- Manage pharmacy financial goals including budget, payroll, third-party administration, scheduling, and inventory to maintain financial viability.
- Lead and mentor pharmacy support staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
- Facilitate completion of company-required training programs for pharmacy personnel.
- Participate in patient-centered services such as immunization, medication therapy management (MTM), and wellness programs.
- Counsel patients and healthcare providers on medication use, side effects, interactions, and therapy optimization.
- Maintain workplace organization and cleanliness in accordance with legal and company standards.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to promote patient safety.
- Complete continuing education programs as required by state regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Pharmacist license.
- Immunization certification with demonstrated ability to administer all vaccines.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
