Pharmacist | Alexandria, Louisiana

A 13-week pharmacist opportunity is available in a 200+ bed community hospital located in Alexandria, LA. This role involves working closely with clinical teams to ensure the safe and effective use of medications, supporting patient care in a dynamic hospital setting.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating shifts including 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM–11:00 PM
• Every other weekend coverage

Key responsibilities include:

• Verifying medication orders in a timely and accurate manner
• Supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient workflow
• Consulting with physicians and nurses on medication management and patient care
• Applying pharmacokinetic principles to optimize drug therapies
• Utilizing Epic and Pyxis systems to support clinical operations

Desired qualifications:

• Active pharmacist license in good standing
• Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations, including order verification and clinical consultation
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Strong communication and supervisory skills in a team environment
