An opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care in a community hospital setting with over 200 beds. This position is a contract assignment based in Alexandria, Louisiana, with an immediate start and a duration of 13 weeks.

Schedule:

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Rotating schedule that may include early mornings, daytime, or evening shifts (e.g., 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM–11:00 PM)
  • Every other weekend rotation

Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians while ensuring compliance with protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize patient care
  • Utilize pharmacokinetics principles in medication management
  • Operate clinical systems, including EPIC and Pyxis, to support pharmacy operations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current pharmacist license in good standing
  • Experience working in a hospital or community healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of drug therapies and patient care best practices
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record system and Pyxis automated medication dispensing devices
  • Ability to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
